Great Expectations
Cell Phone Policy
As per HB1481, cell phones and other electronic devices such as smart watches, laptops, tablets, gaming devices, headphones, and earbuds with cellular connectivity may not be used on campus between the hours of 8:05 AM and 3:35 PM; this includes in the restrooms. Electronic passes will be made with a computer.
Devices should be “away and unseen” in the student’s backpack/school bag and not on their person. Students who do not have a bag are required to leave their device in the AP office.
Students found to be in non-compliance with these practices will receive a warning along with parent/guardian contact. A second incident will result in a referral to their AP. Repeated violations may result in parents/guardians being required to pick up the personal device from VRHS and the student may lose to bring a personal device to school. Continued violations will result in additional consequences in alignment with the Leander ISD Student Code of Conduct. Please remember that this is a state law.
